Peggy Faye Baker Upchurch

Mrs. Peggy Faye Baker Upchurch, age 74, passed away January 9, 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on June 29, 1940; the daughter of Ollie Ruth Baker and the late Whalon Baker. She was born and raised in Willow Spring, NC and spent her adult life in Apex, NC where she was a tobacco farmer’s wife and mother of three.

Her life revolved around her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Jimmie Walker Upchurch, Sr.; together they had 51 happy years of marriage. She is survived by her daughters: Pam Sanderford and husband Steve, Sandra Peeler and husband Aaron; son: Jim Upchurch, Jr. and wife Melissa; grandchildren: Jessica Murray and husband Jason, Jill McCoy and husband James, Daniel Sanderford, Christopher and Evan Peeler and Walker and Amelia Upchurch; and brother: Tommy Baker. She was also predeceased by a sister: Betty Simpkins.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 12, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Apex Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at Apex United Methodist Church on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 11 am, with burial to follow at Wake Memorial Park.
