

He was the loving husband of Mary Frances Clark. They shared 68 years of marriage together.
Richard was born in Atlanta, GA on March 12, 1937 to Robert Eugene and Edna Fleming Clark. He grew up in Charlotte, NC. He attended Oak Ridge Military Academy. He attended Belmont Abby College and studied Mechanics. He was a staff sergeant in the Air National Guard.
He was a longtime member of The Lutheran Church. He was a Little League baseball coach for The Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing, wood working, building and flying remote control model airplanes, golf, playing bridge and traveling with Frankie and their friends.
He worked as an Operations Manager for Pak-Tec, Leesona, Tex America and Crompton & Knowles.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Eugene and Edna Ruth Clark.
He is survived by his wife Mary Frances Whisnant Clark of Apex, NC; his sons Bob Clark (Carolyn) of Sanford, NC; Russ Clark (Tammy) of Denver, NC; and his grandchildren Sara Clark (Weston) of Brooklyn, NY; Katie Clark (Kevin) of Austin, TX; and Norman Clark (Allie) of Denver, NC.
The family would like to thank the staff and friends at The Reserve at Mills Farm for their help and compassion during Richard's last months.
The family will honor his memory at a private gathering.
