Richard Palmer Dean

Richard was born September 3, 1932 in Yonkers, NY to the late Guy P. and Mabel P. Dean. He was a Korean War veteran of the US Army and a member of the East Stroudsburg Volunteer Fire Department. Richard enjoyed going to Myrtle Beach with his grandchildren. He had a passion for fixing up and driving antique cars in parades and going to car shows, where he won numerous awards.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 50 plus years, Joan Dippre Dean; sister-in-law, Pat Dean; niece, Renee Dean; and inlaws, Ted and Leanna Dippre.

He is survived by his brother, Guy P. Dean of Minnesota; son, Richard A. Dean and wife, Donna of Cary; grandchildren, Brian and Andrea Dean; niece, Stephanie Dean; several nieces and nephews; lifelong friends and his beloved dog Scooby.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held 5:30 – 8:00pm Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC 27502.
