Ruby Cribb Marsh

Ruby was born on Sunday, June 10, 1928 in Georgetown County, South Carolina to the late Brightmon and Adril Cribb. She grew up in a loving, hardworking farm family with a strong Christian faith. After moving with her husband to Morrisville, NC in 1949, Ruby became a member of Sorrell’s Grove Baptist Church where she served faithfully. She was known for the beautiful quilts she made and shared with loved ones. She was a wonderful cook, and her biscuits, fried chicken and banana pudding, all made with love, were always a hit. Ruby also enjoyed gardening and flowers. She always brought home seeds and plantings from places visited while traveling, and usually grew a healthy plant from them. She also loved animals, and none went hungry under her watch. Ruby and her husband were a hardworking partnership, always ready to help wherever needed. She was so glad to be able to keep her husband home through his final illness and took wonderful care of him. Ruby was dedicated to her family and to her church and to Jesus Christ. She truly lived her faith.

In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by husband of 62 years, Ivory Jesse Marsh and her 8 brothers and sisters.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Donald Jesse Marsh (Anna) and Douglas Ivory Marsh (Teri); daughters, Dianne Lane (Michael) and Ruby Denise McCoy; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends and guests on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sorrell’s Grove Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. A graveside service will be held following the funeral service at Sorrell’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The service will be streamed live through Facebook at Sorrell Grove Baptist Church.

Flowers are welcome and memorial contributions can be made to Sorrell’s Grove Baptist Church, 210 Sorrell Grove Church Road, Morrisville NC 27560 in honor of Ruby.
