Sarah Trainer

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday July 5, 2013 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. in Apex, NC at 1:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service for her at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

Sarah worked as a Bank clerk before her retirement; her family will remember her as a loving mother and grandmother who always put her children and grandchildren first and loved them dearly; and she was fiercely loyal to them and her family. She was proud of her Scottish heritage and her family there and she told them she could have written a book about them to share all the stories which she shared with her family and friends.

She loved to watch old black and white movies, especially James Cagney movies, and loved to travel to Las Vegas and Atlantic City to play the slots there. Her family said she loved to sing and in her younger days she was invited to parties and other gatherings where people enjoyed listening to her sing.

Sarah is survived by her daughter Sharon and son-in-law Bert Drabowski; sons Frank and Neil Trainer; and her grandchildren Nicole, Ryan and Colin. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim who shared 45 years together before his passing; and her brothers Neil, Peter, and Charlie.

The family suggests memorials in her memory be made to the American Cancer Society.
