Shirley Jean Kachelries

Shirley was born on May 14, 1932 in Pennsylvania to the late William and Celia Gearhart. She grew up on the family farm where she developed her “green thumb”. She loved gardening flowers and vegetables, and enjoyed sewing and knitting also. She began her career as an Office Manager at American Cyanamid, and spent most of her career as a Manager of office operations for commercial and residential cleaning firms. She expressed a one-of-a-kind love for her family and welcomed new friends into her home for her delicious home cooking. She touched so many lives often very simply in conversation during cocktail hour, sipping on a single drink for over 3 hours while listening.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by husband Ronald Cordell Kachelries (Keys); two sons Robert Dale Kachelries and Gregory Alan Kachelries; a grandson Clark Angus Hurlbert; and two brothers William Gearhart and John Gearhart.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Rhonda Rae Hurlbert (Robert) and Jeanne Carol Hendrickson (Bruce) and her many beloved grandchildren.

Upon her wishes, a private family celebration of life with be held at a future date.
