

Mr. Booth was born in Conway, S.C. but grew up in the Durham, N.C. area. He attended the Randolph-Macon Military Academy in Virginia and went on to graduate in 1959 with a B.S. in Geology from UNC-Chapel Hill. For many years Mr. Booth lived in the Tidewater area of Virginia where he became the owner of a small general contracting business. Though he enjoyed being a contractor, it was sailing that he loved. He and his wife retired to Oriental N.C. where he continued to sail, eventually ending up in New Bern, N.C.
Bill is survived by his wife, Julia of the home, daughter Julia Durham and husband Matt Bray; sisters Susan Stevenson and husband John Stevenson of Swansboro, N.C., and Donna Neal of Jacksonville, N.C.
A private cremation ceremony was held through Apex Funeral Home. Further services will be scheduled at a later date.
