Darrell was born in Loma Linda, CA on March 3, 1948. He attended college at Occidental in Los Angeles. He moved to Apple Valley, CA in the 70’s and opened Coast Cities Financial. An entrepreneur at heart, he was a mortgage banker, CEO of Ignition Interlock, insurance broker, and developer with Mesa Verde Development. He was a wonderful husband, father, friend, and mentor to so many. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his humor, his love, and his brilliance. Darrell is survived by his wife Betty and kids, Debi Ludwig, Karen Peterson, Kristin Stevens, Kannyn and Colby Courter, Mike Kratzke, Mark and Bev Kratzke, Dave Corbett, 15 grandkids, and 8 great grandkids.
The funeral services for Darrell will be held Monday, January 15, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Sunset Hills Mortuary, 24000 Waalew Road, Apple Valley, CA 92307, followed by a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM. All are welcome to attend.
