David was born in East Los Angeles on June 18th, 1954 and took his final ride on October 6th, 2021 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. David has been a resident of Apple Valley since 1983. David was a Veteran of the Navy, serving in the Vietnam War. He had a love for the road, driving semi trucks for over 40 years.
David is survived by his wife, Lydia of 48 ½ years, son Mark Mendoza. His grandchildren Corey and Susanna Mendoza, Katelynn Delgado, Madison Mendoza and Michael Mendoza and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Celia Dorr, Tina Smith and Jessie Salazar, countless cousins, nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews.
Viewing services will be held at Sunset Hills Mortuary in Apple Valley on Monday, October 18th from 2-5pm. Church services will be held at Our Lady of the Desert in Apple Valley on Tuesday, October 19th at 10:30am with precession to graveside military burial.
