Emily Jean Patton Johnson passed away at home on November 19, 2019 at the age of 43. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Scott Bennion Johnson and their three children: Dallin Scott Johnson (wife Bryn Cozzens Johnson), Allison Jean Johnson, and Nicole Leah Johnson.
Emily was born August 5, 1976 in Provo, Utah to her parents, Thomas and Leah Patton and was the eldest of six siblings: Katie Finai, Hayley Anderson, Lindsay Patton, Mallory Patton, and Jamon Patton.
She grew up in Provo and went to Provo High School where she excelled in music, sewing and volleyball. Emily then attended Western Wyoming Community College on a music scholarship before transferring to Brigham Young University, where she met the love of her life, and husband. They were married in the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on August 22, 1997.
Scott and Emily moved to California to raise their family and there she received her bachelor’s degree and teaching credential from Cal State San Bernardino while Scott completed dental school at Loma Linda.
Emily was a devoted wife and dedicated to her faith and community service. She loved teaching middle school and piano lessons, but we feel she would agree with us as we write that her greatest pride, success, and joy was her family: her husband, son and twin daughters.
We would like to offer our sincerest gratitude for the love and support we have received by so many. We are also grateful for the knowledge that families are forever and we are not only blessed to know and love one another in this lifetime--but trust that we will once again be in one another's arms. Until We Meet Again.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Apple Valley Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 12100 Ridgecrest Rd., Victorville, CA. Friends may attend her viewing from 9-9:45 am prior to the service. Interment, Sunset Hills Mortuary, Apple Valley, CA.
