Gerald “Jerry” Lundberg, 72, of Apple Valley, entered eternal life on April 19, 2018. Born in Vancouver, WA to parents Roy and Wilma Lundberg, Jerry grew up in Goldendale, WA where he enjoyed playing sports such as basketball, football, and track; and playing coronet in the High School Band. Jerry went on to study at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business. Thereafter, he joined the USAF and became a navigator of large transport aircraft, and thus began his chance to travel the world many times over. Jerry was eventually stationed at Norton Air Force Base, and while there, he met Carol - the woman he would later marry. Jerry remained on active duty through 1974 and continued serving in the Reserves for another 20+ years until he retired as Lt. Colonel in 1990. He went on to continue his education at the University of La Verne College of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1979, and passed the bar shortly thereafter. Jerry married Carol, a widow with three children, in December 1973. In August 1980, the family moved to Apple Valley where Jerry practiced law for nearly 30 years. Jerry was an honest and kind-hearted man who would happily give you the shirt off his back; yet he was also a strong-minded man who never held back from telling you how he felt. Jerry was an avid sports fan and especially loved his Washington Huskies. He enjoyed playing golf with his sons, and loved to go fishing at any given chance. He loved his animals – numerous dogs, cats, and even chickens. Most important to Jerry was family, and he was most proud of his children.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Wilma Lundberg; and his “guardian angel” grandson, Ryan Scott Lundberg. Jerry is survived by his wife, Carol of 44 years; children, Wende (Jim) Caputo, Mark Lundberg, Ken (Lori) Lundberg, and Scott (Georgina) Lundberg; grandchildren, Jennifer, Domini, Alexis, AJ, Sierra, Ethan, Gavin, Kylie, and Hannah; brother, Bill (Frank) Lundberg; and sister, Linda Davies; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 24000 Waalew Rd., Apple Valley, CA, www.sunsethills.cc, on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 11:30 am, with Pastor Richard Wood officiating.
