Herta and her family fled from Lithuania to Germany when the Russians over took their homeland during the beginning of WWII. From Germany, Herta and her sisters immigrated to the United States. Herta learned English and went to work for Chrysler Company in Detroit, Michigan for five years and then moved to Los Angeles, California, where she worked the next 34 years and retired when she was 74 years old. She enjoyed long retirement and moved to Apple Valley where she took up acrylic painting at Artist of the High Desert. At 86 years old she continued to paint.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dagmar Miller and Susan Arends, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held on Thurday, November 30th at 10:00 AM at Sunset Hills Mortuary, 24000 Waalew Road, Apple Valley.CA
