It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jean Nickerson on December 22, 2025.
Jean was born January 29, 1943 in Woodbridge, England. She spent her early years raising her sons Kevin and Lee. Later she met her late husband William “Nick” Nickerson. They were married in January of 1985, then soon traveled to the United States with her son Lee. In her later years after Nick retired from the military they spent some time traveling, spending their days together doing craft fairs, and crafting events. Where she won multiple awards. Jean continued doing arts and crafts, enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing sudoku. Jean was an amazing cook, bringing all her delicious recipes from England. She made sure Lee and Nick would not miss home. They loved her Shepard’s pie, Sausage rolls, batter puddings, Avocado salads, steak and kidney pies, beans on toast and something super special for Lee, she would make him sandwiches when he left to go back to work or home. Even if it was 4am.
After Nick passed in 2022 she filled her days with her love of knitting, and enjoying the company of her great grandchildren. In more recent months she spent time closer to her family and friends.
Jean Nickerson is survived by her sons Lee (Jennifer) Aylmer, son Kevin (Tracy) Aylmer, beloved sister Heather Garrison and family. Brother Kenny and family. She is also survived by grandchildren Tyler (Corana) Aylmer, Isaiah Aylmer, Taylor Pomeroy, Jordan (Tilly) Aylmer, and Loren Aylmer. Great grandchildren Fredrick and Harlie Jean Aylmer, Liam Swenson, Lunar and Primrose Aylmer.
There will be a memorial service held at a Veterans Administration cemetery in the near future for Nick and Jean Nickerson.
As we mourn the loss of not only a mother, but a sister, a daughter, grandmother, and great grandmother, we want to honor and remember her by loving everyone and cherishing those we love. God bless.
