11 years have passed since Lester Bryant Boal went to be with the Lord.  A couple of months prior to his passing we spent a weekend with a couple of other retired deputies at Virginia Lakes in the high Sierras.  I thank God that we had that time together.  Campfires, lawn chairs, laughing and telling stories of things we did as deputies.  Les is one of my heroes, of the many I worked with.  I miss him, and his laughter as he told of his misfortunes at doing home repairs.  This year his wife joined him.  Renee was as special as Les.  May God's hand touch them both and welcome them to paradise.  In God's wisdom I'm certain he will not ask Les to do any repair on the Pearly Gates.

I worked with Les at the Emergency Operations Bureau of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.  Every year about 10 of us would descend on Virginia Lakes in the Sierras.  Nights around the campfire with one war story after another followed by uproarious laughter.  Les was an amazing man.  He could cuss like a sailor one minute and utter a beautiful prayer of praise and thanksgiving the next.  He was a true Raconteur of storytelling.  Most of the stories were about his own misadventures which always lead to hysterical laughter.  Les was my friend, we were warriors together on the streets, and I miss him.  One of the best men I've ever met.  Rest in Peace my friend.

Lester, You will always be remembered
