December 25, 2019. He spent his last 3 years living in Irvine and prior to that he spent 17 years living in
Victorville, California. He was born on June 9, 1941, and is survived by his wife of 46 years, Alma Rose
Martinez, and his children Diana, Manuel Jr., Ricky Manuel, Helen, Gina, Mark, Edwina, Jesse, and
Denise. He is also survived by his much-loved sister, Rose, his beloved grandchildren, great-
grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Manny had a passion for life and enjoyed being around family and friends. He loved dancing, joking,
laughing, and playing—even at 78 years old. His greatest passion was his love for God and sharing that
love with others through scripture, conversation, and prayer. Over the last 10 years, he consistently
devoted 2 hours of every day to prayer. Furthermore, Manny spent many hours each day studying
Scripture and working tirelessly to compose a book of scriptural explanations to aid those looking to
study the Bible: He completed this feat a week before his passing.
A celebration of life and rosary will take place on January 9, 2020 at Sunset Hills Memorial Park and
Mortuary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in
Victorville, California, where he spent many years as a lector and Eucharistic minister. Manny’s final
journey will take place after the funeral service at Sunset Hills Memorial Park
