Sandra J. Dorman: Sandy transitioned peacefully into the light of God in her home with immediate family on March 15, 2019, at 11:30, after a short battle with cancer. Sandy was a California native and lived 80 wonderful years on Earth. She was always happy and was always there for a friend in need.
She grew up in Eagle Rock with her 2 sisters, Sally and Susie. Dave and Sandy met when she was 15. Young as they were, they fell in love at first sight. After 4 years of courtship they were married. Dave (Buddy) and Sandy were married in 1958 and were together 64 years. Sandy is survived by her husband, Dave, her children, David Jr., daughter in-law, Denise, and daughter Christine. She has beloved grandchildren, Nicole, Rachel, Kyle, and Kevin, and 2 adorable great grand daughters, Khloe and Aubrey. She loved deeply all her extended family and friends. Sandy loved family parties! She was a dedicated, loyal person, and a whole lot of fun.
After Sandy had children, she immersed herself in the care of all young children. While raising Dave and Chris, she began to work as a nursery school teacher. She then went on work for other day care centers and eventually began her own child care center. Sandy then was employed at Bright Horizons Inc. and soon became the director of Union Bank Child Care. She retired after 30 years in service to children and their families.
Creating memories was a passion of hers as well. She became a Creative Memories consultant and produced many albums and books to record all the great times in life that she experienced and helped others do the same. She donated her time to the Victorville public library, was a part of the Republican Women’s Club, and was very involved in the Spring Valley Lake Fishing Club. She loved being in the community of people in which she lived. Giving, thoughtful, loving, compassionate, fun, beautiful, and kind are just a few words to describe Sandy. Her smile, her giggle, her laughter, and joy will remain in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace.
A Celebration of her Life will be held Wednesday, Apr 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sunset Hills Chapel, 24000 Waalew Rd. in Apple Valley.
She will be laid to rest following the celebration at Sunset Hills Memorial Park.
