Aleine Joy McGuigan

On Saturday, April 11, 2020, Aleine Joy McGuigan, loving mother of seven children, grandmother of nineteen grandchildren, and great-grandmother of twenty-two great-grandchildren, passed away at the age of 76 at her home surrounded by family.

Aleine was born on September 27, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas to Alexander Papoi and Florence Luke. On July 11, 1959, she married Vern Charles McGuigan. They raised three sons, Vern, Brian, and Kevin, and four daughters, Deborah, Rebecca, Xana, and Verna. Aleine was blessed to find a love again with James Martin later in life.

Aleine was a successful businesswoman and property manager. She led an adventurous life and there was no role she couldn’t fill including cosmetologist, phlebotomist, and commercial truck driver. She was an inspiration to all around her and always followed her passions in life. She was a great friend, mentor, and willing to lend a hand or ear anytime. Aleine appreciated the finer things in life but still found beauty in the simplest pleasures. She enjoyed gardening, decorating, cooking, traveling, and above all time with family.

Aleine is proceeded in death by her father, Alexander; mother, Florence; husband, Vern; and son Mark Michael McGuigan.

Aleine is survived by ex-husband, James; daughter, Deborah Mihal and her husband, Ferdinand; granddaughter, Christina Still, and her husband, Jesse; great-granddaughters, Aria and Melody; son, Vern McGuigan, and his wife Deidre; grandson, Mark McGuigan, and his wife Dana; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Erica, Kayla, Hally, and Mark; grandson, AJ McGuigan, and his wife Angela; great-grandchildren, Avaa, Gage, and Kylie; granddaughter, Nicole Madeley and her husband, Justin; great-grandchildren, Eliana, Alexis, and Drake; granddaughter, Christa McKinley and her husband, Corey; grandchildren, Camryn, Chloee, and Cooper; daughter, Rebecca Cassidy and her husband Dallas; grandsons Robert and Shaun; son, Brian McGuigan; grandson Justin McGuigan; granddaughter, Cara McGuigan and her husband Kenneth; great-grandsons, Wesley and Connor; granddaughter, Jacqueline McGuigan; grandson, Nathaniel McGuigan; son, Kevin McGuigan and his wife Karen; grandsons, Kristian and Kaelan; daughter, Xana Sandgren and her husband David; granddaughter, Shea Maeder and her husband Ethan; great-granddaughters, Kinsley, Penelope, and Daphne; grandson, Matthew Sandgren and his wife Kristin; daughter, Verna Matthews and her husband Jeff; grandson, Kenny Carmona and his wife Brittani; great-grandson, Kevin; granddaughter, Kristen Carmona; granddaughter, Melissa Carmona; granddaughter, Caitlyn Matthews; and many more extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held April 17, 2020 from 1pm-4pm at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held for immediate family on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 2pm with graveside service to follow at Moore Memorial Gardens on Davis Drive in Arlington, Texas. Due to the current social situation friends wishing to participate in the services may do so by live stream viewing of the services on Moore Funeral Homes Facebook page.
