Alice Marie Kerr entered the next life on Saturday, July 29, 2017 in Arlington, Texas. Marie was born June 25, 1925, in Ladonia, Texas, to Lawrence and Laura Pickard. She grew up in Pecan Gap, Texas, and graduated from Pecan Gap High School. Marie earned a bachelor's degree at her beloved Texas State College for Women and received her master's degree in history from East Texas State Teachers College. She loved children and was a dedicated teacher. She taught public school for twelve years in Pecan Gap and Paris, Texas. For over 50 years, she taught Sunday School in the Methodist Church. In 1958, she married Homer Kerr, and they had 56 wonderful years together. She devoted her life to teaching children, including her own two. Marie is survived by her sons, Kerry and Karl Kerr and by Karl’s wife, Suzanne, and their family.
