Alice Rae Stonitsch, age 90, passed away on July 4, 2023, in Kennedale, Texas. She was born on May 25, 1933 in Buffalo, New York to George and Nellie Borschel. Alice was raised in Buffalo and attended Bennett High and then Bryan Stratton College.
She married Richard Stonitsch in 1954 and the couple had six children. She was a homemaker, loving foster parent, and travel agent.
In her spare time, Alice enjoyed traveling around the world and spending time with her children, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She had recently joyously celebrated her 90th birthday surrounded by over seventy of her closest friends and family, some of whom traveled from out of state to celebrate with her.
Alice will always be remembered as a strong and independent woman who faced numerous obstacles throughout her life. She was never afraid to speak her mind and always quick to lend a helping hand to her loved ones. Alice's love for her family knew no bounds, and she always put their needs above hers.
“So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted with trust
It’s only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories within our heart
And then, when you must come this way alone
I’ll greet you with a smile and a “Welcome Home”
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Nellie, sisters, Carol Schurr, Nancy Brown, Sue Hemmer, and daughter-in-law, Donnelle Stonitsch.
Alice is survived by sons Mark and wife Hazel, Michael and wife Lisa, Eric and wife Elizabeth, David, daughters Jill and husband Steve, and Lorry; along with 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family in Pennsylvania and New York.
