Allena Still (Bunte)(Long) Coburn was born August 18, 1931, to Lawrence and Alma Still in Alta Loma, Texas. Dedicating her career to education, Allena worked for Santa Fe ISD for over 20 years. Upon retirement, Allena and her second husband, Lewis Long, moved to Groesbeck to raise cattle. She also opened her own quilt shop fulfilling her passion for sewing.
In 2003, she moved to Arlington, Texas, to be near her children. It was there where she met her beloved husband, Frank Coburn, and they were blessed to spend their golden years together. Allena was very spiritual and a church member and deacon of First Presbyterian of Arlington for many years. She led and taught the quilting class at the church and volunteered for many activities.
Throughout her life, Allena always had a spunky personality. A passionate woman who loved fiercely and lived such a fulfilled life, she took great pride in her family. One of her greatest joys came from the love and guidance she provided Tiffany White and Abby Thompson during their high school and college years.
Allena was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 28 years Fred Bunte Sr.; her husband of 20 years Lewis Long; her son Larry Bunte; her brother Lawrence Still; and her granddaughter April DeLeon.
Left to celebrate her memory are her husband Frank Coburn; brother Gerald Still and wife Martha; children Fred Bunte Jr. and wife Suzanne; Kathleen White and husband Charlie; step-children Eddie Long and wife Gail; Kimberly Long-Cowart and husband Randy; Melissa Long Broussard and husband Lenn Bristow; David Coburn and wife Jackie; Cathy Daniels and husband Charlie; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and three great- great grandchildren.
Special gratitude is due to Tiffany White and Missy Broussard who have spent years loving and caring for Allena. The family would like to thank the staff at The Landing at Watermere in Frisco and Hope Health Hospice Care for the excellent attention they provided for Allena in her last months. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Allena's memory can be made to the Capital Building Fund at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington.
