

Services for Charles Richard Rushing Sr. 82, of Forth Worth will be 3:00 pm Thursday, March 27, 2014 in the North Chapel of Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas with visitation 2:00 to 3:00 pm. Burial will following in Moore Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. The family invites friends to join them for a light faire at the Moore Funeral Home following the graveside committal service. Mr. Rushing died Sunday, March 23, 2014 in Fort Worth.
Charles was born April 14, 1931 in Kosciusko, Mississippi to Elic Rushing and Annie McMurry Rushing. He grew up and went to school in Kosciusko. He was literally southern born and southern bred and always loved Mississippi and the south. Charles joined the United States Army to serve his country during the Korean War. He received the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, the Combat Infantry Badge and the United Nations Service Medal and was Honorably Discharged September 27, 1952. He married Betty Sue Morgan December 26, 1953 in Kosciusko.
Charles was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Polytechnic Lodge No. 925 in Fort Worth. He was employed as a machinist for 40 years with Bell Helicopter at the Fort Worth and Arlington locations, a job he loved and was devoted to. He enjoyed camping in New Mexico and Utah.
Mr. Rushing Sr. was preceded in death by his wife Betty Sue Rushing, by his only son, Charles Richard Rushing Jr., and by all six siblings, of which he was the youngest.
Survivors include daughter Melody Rushing Frank of Arlington, daughter Mona Rushing Williams of Lawrenceville, GA and by four grandchildren; Jeffrey Allan Bradfield of Denver, CO, James Williams of China, Stephen Williams of Grand Prairie, and Anna Williams of MO.
