Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday at New World United Methodist Church in Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Moore Funeral Home. Interment: 11:15 a.m. Monday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Cole was born Sept. 25, 1951, to Stanley and Waldine Hardison. He graduated from Memorial High School in St. Louis, Mo., and joined the United States Navy, serving from 1971 to 1977. Cole and Lynda Hardison were married in 1975 and Cole graduated from UTA in 1982. He then began his teaching career, a profession to which he dedicated himself for 29 years. Cole was an active participant and leader in the Boy Scouts and various church youth organizations for many years. He was a member of the handbell choir at church. He was also a founding member of PHT.
Survivors: Wife, Lynda; daughters, Rachel and Meghan; and his brother, Preston, and sister, Stacy, and their families.
