Delbert Treadeau 96, passed away on May 5, 2025, in Burleson Texas. He resided in Itasca, Texas for the last 15 years. He was born in Chassell, Michigan, November 10, 1928. He attended school in L’anse, Michigan. After finishing school, he served three years in the Michigan Army National Guard.
Del met and married the love of his life Betty and they had four wonderful children together. As a young newly married man he worked in the woods cutting trees and driving logging trucks, then he worked on road construction. In 1963 he moved his family from Michigan to Texas and went to work at General Motors, He retired from there after 30 years and four months of dedicated service.
Del worked hard to support his family. He worked the third shift at General Motors and for many years he would get off in the morning and go to work at a local gas station.
Ever since he retired, he would set his clock for 6:00 am to get up, he was always busy, always finding something to do. He never wasted a day. Days were meant to stay busy, exercising and staying healthy was a big thing for him. He exercised daily all the way into his 90’s until he couldn’t do it anymore.
He enjoyed cars and tinkering with them. The thing he loved best though was being with his family and what brought him the most joy, his grandchildren were so special to him.
He loved being outside and was able to make that dream come true, for the last several years he lived in a wooded area, and for him it was the woods and the trees. Del had a little dog named Bear who was his best friend for 16 years and they enjoyed all the outdoors together.
Del was the most wonderful and caring dad, papa and uncle and brother. To say everyone loved him was an understatement. He was loving, funny. He loved the babies and little ones. He is truly truly going to be missed. He became papa to everyone. Dad we love you so much.
Del was preceded in death by his parents, Dono and Alice Treadeau; his beloved wife, Betty; daughter, Nelda; two great-granddaughter and six siblings.
Left to cherish his memory are his three children: Barbara Boenisch (Tom), Susan Ireland (Russ), Greg Treadeau (Susan); 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 21 great- great grandchildren, one great-great-great grandchild; along with multiple nieces and nephews who loved him and thought so highly of him
