

Evelyn Ramona Kennedy Greenlee, 86 of Dallas was born Jan. 4, 1929. Evelyn was a strong, full of spirit, fun-loving woman. She lived a life full of love and overcame some of life’s hardest losses. At 13, Evelyn lost her Father in an accidental shooting on Christmas Day. This tragic event changed her life forever. She became the caretaker for her brother, learning how to cook, manage household finances while her Mom worked long hours. In 1945, Evelyn met the love of her life, RD Greenlee who had just returned from the war. They married Mar. 1, 1946. They had their first son, Robert in 1947 while RD went to Art School & later became owner of the Greenlee Sign Company. Evelyn took over the bookkeeping until 1949 when their daughter, Carol was born. In 1958 she gave birth to their second daughter, Laura. Life was full of fun, travel, fishing, camping and boating. As the kids grew older, RD & Evelyn enjoyed the horse races in Shreveport and casinos in Vegas and Tahoe. They were very successful at this and always came home a winner. Evelyn had a passion for fashion, from gold leme to her famous leopard apparel. Her personality was fun and very colorful. Being family oriented, they enjoyed many trips together as well as cookouts and outings. Evelyn was a wonderful support to all grandchildren and was such a bright spark in their lives. Evelyn is preceded by death of her husband, RD Greenlee, Jr. and her son Robert Dewitt Greenlee. She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Carol Hitt and Laura Greenlee; son in law Lee Hitt; Grandchildren, Kevin Hitt and wife Doreen; Baron Hitt; Melissa McKamie and wife Jessica; Michele McKamie, Mallory McKamie & Caitlyn Fregien; two great grandchildren, Samara & Finnley Hitt along with numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn will be best remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her warmth & irresistible charm and her love of life.
