

Memorial services for Fred C Adams Jr., 84, of Arlington will be 11:00 am Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home chapel, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas 77703. Pastor Charles L. Wedge will officiate. The family will receive friends for refreshments and a time of sharing following the service. A private family viewing was held Wednesday, May 7th at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas, and as were his wishes, he will be cremated.
Fred C Adams was born in Beaumont, Texas, December 27, 1929 to Fred C Adams Sr. and Gladys C. Grice Adams. Fred graduated from Beaumont High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, January 5, 1951 to December 19, 1952. In 1956 he graduated with honors from Lamar State College of Technology with a Bachelor degree in Accounting.
He retired as Secretary Treasurer of Beaumont Rice Mills in 2007. Fred enjoyed fishing with his wife Lela and friends and golfing with friends. He once shot a hole-in-one and put an alligator to sleep by rubbing his tummy (the alligator’s, not his). Fred is survived by his loving wife Lela Littrell Adams who has been his constant companion and caregiver. He is also survived by his daughters Deborah Adams Wedge (husband Charlie) and Donna Adams McCullough (husband Robert). Fred has 4 grandchildren; Stewart, Cori, Caren, and Chris; and 4 great grandchildren; Emma, Noah, Aaron, and Sara.
