About Fred....From Fred!

Have you ever been in a family situation where there were two guys by the same name?  There were two Fred’s in our family and it was hard to determine which Fred was being paged.  It was a new experience for us both!  However, as time went on, we learned to love and laugh about it.

Evil Knievel Fred, the Hot Rod Motorcycle Rider!  Yes, it’s true, but was not planned.  I was getting gas for my motorcycle across the street and east of Arlington Memorial when Fred and I made eye contact.  He said he was walking home because he had locked his keys in the car at Lincoln Square, and Kay (and maybe Leanne) didn’t have their keys.  I asked if he wanted to crawl on the back of my bike, and I’d take him home?  Reluctantly, Fred decided that maybe he’d lived long enough, and he could risk ending it!  After we got to his home, we shook hands, and I really think he would have enjoyed motorcycle riding with Chris and me.  But he never pursued it.  So, for a short 10-minute ride, Fred became a true Hot Rod Motorcyclist!

Fred was a smoker and would light up in his back yard near the tool shed.  When we would picnic in their backyard, Chris and I would join him, smoking two old stogies brought from our supply.  All three of us puffed on our smokes while telling lies about our different cars in our younger days.  When finished smoking, I’m sure Chris and I smelled like we’d fallen down in a pig pen.  Fred was both an instigator and a real “pistol!”

Although Mr. Fred spent a few years relaxing and whiling away his time in an assisted living abode, he really never missed a thing.  By the time he got to his new living quarters, he’d already lived a full life with his wonderful family and friends.  So….Fred “done good” during his 77 years! 



Although I did not know Fred as long as many of the friends that attended the beautiful service today, I know that Fred was loved.  There is no greater gift to give or receive than love -  it brings infinite happiness.  Fred was happy - you could see it in the twinkle in his eye, the smile he gave to all,  the way he lit up when Kay visited.  Fred was happy - Fred was loved.  Thank you for entrusting Fred to our care.  We are honored to be part of your loving family.

We were all saddened to learn of Fred’s illness and passing.  We recall the stories shared by our brother-in-law, Richard and his parents, Hans & Gay.  We’ll hold on to those memories with fondness for the little boy he was and the man he became.
We’d like to extend our deepest sympathies to the whole Sievers Family.  To Kay, Chris (and family) & Leann...to Richard and our sister, Arleen...to Terry & Penny...we send each of you our love and prayers.

As I think back to the years of our youth. I remember the laughs we shared, the adventures we had, and the days both good and bad we spent together. Although we have drifted apart over the last fifty years. When I needed you. You were always there for me. Thank you for being my brother. You have departed this earth, but you will always live in my heart.
 May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Always looked forward to Uncle Fred's vacation when we could join your family in Marshall.  I too will remember his smile, gentle nature, and the wonderful smell of his pipe.  I wish we could have spent more time with y'all.  Love and prayers  from Brant, Paige, and myself.

Even though our times together were short through the years, Fred and Fred and Kay together were always gracious and nice to be with. Fred  you will be greatly missed. Our thaughts and prayers go out to Kay and the family.       Your cousins        Jerry & Darlene

Uncle Fred always had a smile on his face. Lots of good memories.  Prayers and love to the family. 

When I started at Bell Helicopter I took over for Fred in Accounts Payable doing the special check run.  He mentored me then, and then several years later I got the chance to work with him again in General Accounting.  He always had a little twinkle in his eye that made you wonder what he was up to when he would shine his smile.  Thanks for being a coworker, mentor, and more importantly a friend. Sending prayers for the family at their time of loss.

Our hearts are full of priceless memories, and love and appreciation for Fred. Our lives are richer because of Fred and the time we all spent together. Game nights, Granbury and the 4th of July only scratch the surface of the memories that will forever put smiles on our faces and bring joy to our hearts. To this day, Fred's garage projects and joy rides in the El Camino take Todd back to the good old days. We will always treasure the way Fred cared for each of you and for our family. We love you each dearly, and will continue praying for your peace and comfort in the days ahead.

My condolences out to the Sievers family.  I grew up 4 houses down from him on Red Oak Ln. in Arlington, TX.  He was my soccer coach for 8 years, the Raiders.  I miss those soccer days.  He was a great coach and a great person.

I worked with Fred at Bell Helicopter.  When I first started at Bell he was very kind and helpful to me.  He was a great man and sorry for your loss.
