George Stahn, a devoted husband, beloved father, and proud Marine, passed away peacefully at the age of 102, leaving behind a legacy rooted in love, faith, and selfless service.
George was born in Fieldon Township, Minnesota, to August and Louise Stahn. One of twelve children, all of which he preceded in death, was the embodiment of quiet strength and humility.
He grew up surrounded by the values that would guide his entire life hard work, faith, and a deep devotion to family and country.
When World War II called, George answered. In the 12th grade, he put aside his own plans and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps to serve his country with honor. His bravery and commitment were steadfast, and upon returning home, he built a life with the same sense of purpose.
He married the love of his life, Violet, and together they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Violet preceded him in death, but their story continues through their three children: Sherrie ("preceded in death," Bob), Carl, and Robert (Mary), and through their grandchildren Stacie, Clayton, Keri, Nicki, and Sarah and several great-grandchildren who carry his legacy into the future.
George was the kind of man people looked up to not because he sought recognition, but because he lived with unwavering integrity, honesty, compassion, generosity, patience, and humility. He put everyone else before himself, always ready to lend a hand, share a kind word, or offer a quiet prayer. He was a man of deep and abiding faith, never wavering in his trust in the Lord.
His favorite verse, John 3:16, guided his life:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
George's life was a testament to the power of faith, sacrifice, and love. He showed us what it means to live with purpose, to serve without condition, and to love without limits. His spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the example he set.
We will miss him deeply, but we rejoice in knowing that he is reunited with Violet and resting in the arms of his Savior. His life was a blessing. His memory, a treasure. He is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
A graveside service for George will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025 10:00 AM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
