Gertrude Rose

Gertrude Rose, age 97, passed away on April 1, 2025 in Arlington, Texas. She was born on June 15, 1927 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Grover Cleveland and Nellie Mae Brown. Gertrude was raised in Oklahoma and Arkansas and attended/ graduated from Varnum High School, Seminole, Oklahoma in 1946. She married Jeston Rose in 1946 and the couple had four children. She was a homemaker where she worked for more than 79 years.

In her spare time Gertrude enjoyed drinking her morning coffee on the back patio watching the birds and squirrels. She enjoyed family gatherings, church and visiting with her children.

Her family and friends will always remember her as a thoughtful, kind, loving and made great chocolate pie.

She is preceded in death by her Husband Jeston Dean Rose and Son Thomas Michael Rose.

Survived by Daughters Lana Rose Redding, Marilyn (Steve) Goodwin, Son Darren Rose. Granddaughter Stephanie Davis, Grandsons: Gregory (Colette) Rose, Christopher Goodwin Great Granddaughters Katelyn Rose, Lauren Davis and Brooklyn Vega. Sister Geraldine Brown and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews which she loved like her own children.

A visitation for Gertrude will be held Monday, April 7, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Good Sheppard United Methodist Church, 2020 S Collins St, Arlington, TX 76010. A committal service will occur Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Emerald Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd, Kennedale, TX 76060.
