My sister Chrissy and I grew up in California and a few years back we made a trip out to Texas to meet some of my Dad's family.  Our uncle David took us to meet Horace and we had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with him and his wife.  We had such a good time that day. Horace showed us all kinds of things...the bike he made, the jewelry boxes, the coasters, and he even gave us a few keepsakes to take with us.  I still have those things and everytime I see them I think of him.  Even though my sister and I did not get to know him very well we are sad to hear that he has passed.  May peace be with his family and friends during this time.  God Bless.

I am so sad to hear of "Hoss" passing.  From the first day that Ray and I met him, he became family. My grandson, Cameron, has just lost another grandpa.  How he loved to see Hoss. I will miss his stories, little songs and his smile.  He was such a unique person, with a genuine love for life.  There will never be another like him.  I'm sure Ray was there to greet him and I just bet they are telling some stories now.  No doubt, there is plenty of laughter in heaven since he arrived.  My love and prayers for Norma and the boys.

My heart is heavy with the news of the passing of one of my heroes Horace Davis. He was so respected and adored by so many including me as I was growing up. He was everywhere, enjoying life to fullest. I have so many fond memories from church to the scouts and even working for him at his booths at Traders Village.  My thoughts and prayers to the Davis family.  Heaven just got an upgrade by calling him home. God bless.

I have such fond memories of my Uncle Horace, as a young child he would tell me that I was staying with him instead of going home with my parents, when we had family gatherings. I would get so excited (thinking I would REALLY get to stay with him) and then my parents said "no, you're going home with us," and then he would tell my parents "no, she staying with me". This happened everytime I got to see my Uncle Horace. He showed so much love for the children as I look back. He always gave me a special little gift to take home everytime! May have been a feather, a charm, a coin and every gift had a story to go with it. This would make it "all ok" that I couldn't stay with him. I charish all the wonderful memories of my Uncle Horace.Now, he is in heaven with my parents, Granville and Mary Hanks!

I am so sorry to hear of Horace's passing.  He was one of my heros growing up and was certainly a role model for me.  Horace is responsible for encouraging me to get my Eagle while in Troop 379.  He also was the man that baptized me when he encouraged me to follow Christ. Many that crossed Horace's path during life are better folks because of him.  Horace was bigger than life itself, and it is hard to imagine this world without Horace Davis.  However, his memory will continue to live.  God bless you and prayers for peace beyond understanding are lifted up.
