Imani Cheryse Ross

Imani Ross had her sunrise 30 years ago on June 16th, 1992 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the only child from the union of Pamela Hampton and Charles Ross. She was christened into God’s Kingdom at St. James AME Church in Fort Worth, Texas where she maintained her membership until her parents moved her to Faith Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas. Most recently, she has been a member of the High Pointe Baptist Church in Cedar Hill, Texas.

Imani attended private Christian School at Evangel Temple Christian School in Grand Prairie and then transitioned to public schools in Parsippany New Jersey. Her secondary education was completed within the Cedar Hill ISD where she graduated. Imani attended college at the Art Institute in Dallas and at Cal-State University in San Bernardino, California.

Imani was full of life and activity. She loved all types of sports especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Maverick. She was a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, a member of the Cedar Hill High School Swim Team, The High Pointe Baptist Church Youth Group, and The Faith Fellowship Baptist Church Praise Team just to name a few.

Imani had a love for her Family and Friends. She loved going to family functions and just “hanging out” with friends. Her Father’s family is the Colquitte-Ross families of Arkansas, her birth Mother’s family is the Hampton-Dalton Family of Arkansas, and her Mother’s family is the Claybrook Family of Texas.

Imani is survived by her Father Charles Ross and Mother Vicki Ross both of Dallas, Texas. Her birth Mother, Pamela Hampton-Ross, preceded her in death (2001). She had one Brother Jason Claybrook (Niki) of Dallas, Texas and One Sista Andrea Claybrook of Plano, Texas. She has one nephew Jakob Claybrook and three nieces Audrey Claybrook, Ashton Claybrook, and Henley Claybrook. There is a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members too numerous to mention, but know that Imani loved you all immensely.
