The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, February 11, 2016, 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Moore Funeral Home.
Jack was born January 8, 1945 in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1965. Jack had a life long struggle with his mental disease. Through it all, he was loved. He lived in a group home called the Hackberry House. The manager said Jack was “a part of our family for six years. He always had a smile for you and always wanted to share what he had.” He loved to laugh and he loved little children; he always gave them a dollar or a piece of candy. He had a good heart, and to this day, staff and residents still ask about him. You couldn’t forget Jack, and his memory will live on in our hearts. I liked Elvis Presley and Jack Jr. would always call me and tell me when one of his movies was on. Jack liked the fact that he shared the same birthday as Elvis. Jack had a loyal dog named Spot that he loved very much; Spot loved Jack as well and went everywhere he went. Jack moved to a nursing home in South Texas; everyone there loved him and he was always making friends. Jack enjoyed talking to the staff and to his peers. He enjoyed sitting and people-watching. He loved having conversation with whomever would sit down and listen. He enjoyed going to church service; even during his most confusing times he would attend and praise.
Mr. Waller was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Edna Waller, and by his wife, Joyce West Waller.
Jack will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sister, Jana, and her husband, Mark Patton, nephew Matthew A. Patton, daughter April Dawn Waller Tyler, grandsons Desmond Michael Waller and Darwin Lee Tyler, and great-grandson Tyson Tyler.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in Jack’s memory to the National Alliance of Mental Illness.
