Born March 31, 1928 in Chesterfield, South Carolina to Kirby and Annie Jane Melton, Jackie attended Winthrop College in North Carolina.
She was a supporter, homemaker, mother and grandmother to those whom she loved. Married fifty-one years to the love of her life, Junius Adolphus Mangum, she was an avid reader and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceding Jacquelyn in death were husband June Mangum, brother Gene Melton, and great grandchild Vivian Mangum.
Jacquelyn is survived by her son Jay Mangum and wife Jan; daughter Janet Crain and husband Gary; grandchildren Brian and Allyson Mangum, Michael Crain, Michele and Robert Hand, Matt Mangum, Jennifer and Greg Hawkes; and great grandchildren Isabel and Logan Mangum and Genevieve Hand.
Visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas on Mon., Aug 16 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tues., Aug 17, in Moore Funeral Home Chapel at 9:30 am with interment to follow in Moore Memorial Gardens.
