James Lackey departed our loving family on September 14, 2025 after a long illness. On September 5, 1959, James was born to James Lackey and Kathryn Lackey. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1978. He was a Manager at Kroger Co, then went into sales where he was very successful and loved by all he worked with. James loved music and was an avid concert goer. He loved riding his motorcycle, he loved sky diving, snow skiing and seldom missed a Dallas Cowboy game. James was quick witted and had a really great sense of humor and could make the entire room laugh till our stomachs hurt. James loved going to our mom’s family gatherings where the whole family would come and we ate meals and after dinner would watch movies, football games and tell stories. James had a zest for life and had many great friends. He also had a very loving side that only a select few friends and family got to see. James was a great son, brother and father. Growing up with James was always an adventure from mischievous acts to just being kids. When James children were born, he was so proud and loved them so much. He looked forward to taking his daughter Kristen to the annual father daughter dances and he always enjoyed hanging out and playing catch with his son, James. James is survived by daughter Kristen Lackey, son James Lackey, brother Jon Lackey and his wife, Shellie Lackey, sister Melanie Madanski and her husband, Daniel Madanski, stepsisters Michelle Sullivan, Alison Holiday and stepmom Kila Mickelson, uncle Patrick Cuthbertson and nephews James Sargetis, Bailey and Dawson Lackey and Evan Madanski and nieces Ava and Sophia Madanski. He was proceeded in death by father, James Lackey, mother, Kathryn Crawford and sister, Jill Mathison. James will be missed by all who knew him as he was such a fun and caring soul. Goodbye for now James, You are loved and missed.
