James Robert McDonald

James Robert McDonald, 87, left this earthly home on December 18, 2023 in Arlington, TX. He was born March 10, 1936 in Mill Creek, Oklahoma to James Otto and Annie Lou McDonald. James was raised in Mill Creek where he attended Mill Creek High School, leaving in 1954 and getting his GED after. James joined the Air Force where he served four years as an Airman 1st class. He met the love of his life Katherine Zeise and they married in 1960, they raised three wonderful children together. James was a Machinist at Vought Aerospace where he worked for more than 30 years. In his free time, James enjoyed going to the casino, drinking coffee while reading the newspaper and comics, and watching sports on TV. His true joy came from spending time with family including attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. James’s family and friends will always remember him as a hardworking family man and an upstanding husband who took care of Kathy in her last years when she was unable to do so herself. Also, how he enjoyed making people laugh with his sly humor.

James was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 55 years, Kathy; parents, James Otto and Annie Lou; brothers, Kenneth, JT, and Bub.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Cindy and husband Jimmy, Fred, and Judy; grandchildren, Tiffany, Joshua and wife Brittany, Jami, Brianna, and Jake; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ady; brothers, Neal and wife Barbara, Leon and wife Ada; sisters-in-law, Jackie, Nita, and Dinkie; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for James will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A committal service will occur Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
