

JD Brown, 71, much-loved husband, father, grandfather, colleague, mentor and friend, passed away on Friday, December 28 after a swift and unexpected battle with cancer. A reception will immediately follow the memorial service.
JD was born July 17, 1941 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Albert (Bert) Monroe and Delpha (Debbie) Mullins Brown. He grew up in Wickett, Texas and graduated from Monahans High School in 1959. He met the love of his life Linda the summer after graduation. They were married January 19, 1962 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
JD spent his entire career in the utility industry, as a lineman, electrician, manager and salesman. After getting married, he went to work for Texas Electric and then later worked for Dixie Electric and Mobil Oil in Midland-Odessa. He started his own utility business Area Electric in 1974. In 1979 JD moved the family to Arlington where he worked for Cummins Supply for many years. In the 90's, he was transferred to Tyler and, most recently, he worked for Irby in Fort Worth where he was still working when he passed away.
JD loved playing cards, golfing, hunting, fishing, singing, the Rangers and Cowboys, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife: Linda Cunningham Brown; sister: Dorothy Arnold, son: Rick Brown; daughters: Lisha Brock and Krista Eads; grandchildren: Jackson Brock, Kelsey Eads, Leyna Brock, and Megan Eads; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
