Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Arlington. Interment will follow in Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Jerry was born April 22, 1921, in Reed, Okla. He was a man who embraced humility. He truly believed and treated everything in life as a blessing, a gift from God, to a man who didn't deserve anything. Jerry was a humble man of God who loved his family and friends. We want to give a special thank you to his extended family at Town Hall Estates in Arlington where he resided for over four years.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 70 years, Thelma Mathews; three brothers; four sisters; eldest daughter, Marlene; son-in-law, Larry Turner; and granddaughter, Iva Ward.
Survivors: Daughters, Myra Tobin and her husband, David, Charlotte Turner; son, Jerry Mathews and his wife, Jeanene; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
