Jo Ann Townley

Jo Ann Thompson Townley, age 93, passed away peacefully at home on November 7, 2025. The youngest of 4 children, she was born in Aubrey, TX to James M. and Lorena (Brents) Thompson on May 31, 1932. During her childhood the family moved to Ft. Worth where Jo Ann graduated from Paschal High School. She married James L. Townley on August 4, 1950, and together they raised 3 boys, Mike, Greg, and Brent (wife, Kari) were her life's first priority. She was foremost a loving and dedicated mother. Jo Ann's professional interest and college degree were in child development and early childhood education. SHe dedicated her career to TCJC Children's Center as a gifted and esteemed teacher to retirement.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings (and spouses). She is survived by her boys; grandson, Michael (wife, Carole); great-grandchildren, Cameron (wife, Lisseth) and Ashley Ortiz (husband, Jesse) and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Jo Ann is forever remembered for her unwavering Christian faith, contagious sense of humor, and loyal, supportive friendship by all who knew her.

A visitation for Jo Ann will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 beginning at 12 pm at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive Arlington, TX 76012, with a burial to follow the visitation at 1 pm at Moore Memorial Gardens.
