Joan A. Putnam

Joan Putnam, a long time Arlington, Texas resident, passed away November 12, 2022 at the age of 91.

Joan was born in Clyde, Texas on January 16, 1931 to her parents, Carl Quince Armstrong and Lila Middlebrook Armstrong.

She had two older siblings, her sister, Elizabeth and her brother, Quincy.

After the death of her father, Joan moved with her family to Fort Worth.

Joan graduated from Paschal High School and in 1951 married her high school sweetheart, Jack Lane.

In 1952 their first child was born and they moved to Arlington. They bought a house on Lackland Street and had two more children.

Joan and Jack were married 17 years until Jack's unexpected death in 1968.

Joan was married to Wayne Putnam from 1975 until his death in 1992. She had a strong and independent spirit that enabled her to endure the ups and downs of life and to live on her own until shortly before her death.

Joan is survived by her three children and their spouses Lila and Dub Wallis, Rebecca and Rob Davis and Wynne and Elizabeth Lane and granddaughters Allison Mora and Meredith Lane.
