

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, John passed from this earth to his heavenly reward on January 28, 2013, in Garland, Texas. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana in a leap year, February 29, 1936, John took great delight in telling people he was only 19 years old. His family moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas, when he was a baby and then on to Wichita Falls, Texas, when he was five years old. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School and attended Midwestern University, graduating in 1958. He received his Certified Public Accountant license in 1969 and continued doing taxes until his death. He married his beloved wife, June, in 1976. They were inseparable, and his love for her knew no bounds. Together they had one son, John David. John became a Mason in 1963. He was a member of Royal Arch Dallas Chapter #43 and had served as Most Excellent High Priest of this Masonic body. He was a member of and had served as Thrice Illustrious Master of Royal and Select Master Masons Dallas Council #18. He was also Past Commander of Dallas Commandery #6 Knights Templar of Texas. He was an active member of the Lyle Cross York Rite College and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. John’s priorities were always family, faith and fun. He was a devout Christian and a scholar who could talk with anyone about anything. He knew no strangers. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Ruth Buzzell and his parents, John Henry and Ernestine Buzzell. His is survived by his wife, June; son, John David and wife Jennifer Buzzell and his precious grandson, Isaac. Survivors also include his sister, Jean Carol Segers of Wichita Falls and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday, January 31 at 12:30 pm at Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Arlington with a visitation prior to service time from 11:30 to 12:30pm.
