Joseph Helal

Joseph Helal, aged 78, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025 in Arlington, Texas. He was born on December 9, 1946 in Dhaka, Bangladesh to Mohammed Yusuff and Nagina Khatoon and had six brothers and six sisters.

He immigrated to New York City in 1972 as a pharmacist, and met Corazon Tacod, who he married in 1974. He received his Master of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Administration from Long Island University.

Joseph's career spanned over 40 years and across six cities, predominantly with the Veterans Administration hospital. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, traveling, dancing, enjoying cultural arts and caring for his dogs.

He will be remembered for his generosity, courage, sense of humor, curiosity and proactive support of others.

Joseph is survived by his wife Cora, his children, Kathleen (and her spouse Alex), Melissa (and her spouse Adaam), six siblings, and 26 nephews/nieces.
