

Joyce (Derryberry) Billion, 69, passed away on March 24, 2011 at her home following a long illness. Visitation services will be held from 11:30am to 12:30pm prior to the funeral services starting at 12:30pm. Joyce was born in Madisonville, Texas on December 4, 1941 and lived in several cities in Texas during her childhood. She was a 1960 graduate of Lubbock High School. As a young woman, she got a job as a secretary working at Combined American Insurance Company (later called Combined Insurance Company of America) in Dallas. It was while she was working at Combined that she met Maurice “Bunky” Billion. They married in 1962 and she remained a devoted wife to Bunky until his death in 2004. She had a very successful career with Combined Insurance Company of America, working for them in Dallas, and later in Chicago and then back in Dallas. Her career with Combined lasted over 25 years. She was an amazingly supportive and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her spirit will be remembered with joy and love and she will be missed forever. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice “Bunky” Billion; Mother, Margaret Adeline (Pearson) Derryberry; Father, Charles Leon Derryberry and Brother, Billy Bob Derryberry. She is survived by her daughter, Maurissa Billion; granddaughter, April Billion-Roden; April’s husband, Bryan Roden; great-granddaughter, Bradleigh Billion; sisters-in-law, Sister Wanda Maria Billion and Ronnie Neill, a niece, nephews, several cousins and many, many friends.
