Juanita Irene Horne

Irene was born to Raymond Cyril Dawson and Zella Margaret Dawson on September 13, 1932 in Shanks, West Virginia. She was one of eleven children. Brothers Thomas, Ellis, Harley, James and John, and sisters Annabelle, Mary, Francis, Margaret and Barbara.

Irene was married to Leroy Joseph Horne, Jr. with whom she had three children, Jeffrey Thomas Horne, Robert Joseph Horne and Juanita Darlene Cecere.

Irene was a lady of little stature, but had a heart bigger than the world for those she cared so much for. She volunteered at HCA Hospital for years, loved the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys, loved garage sales and playing Bingo.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her siblings, except for Barbara Ann, and a great-great grandson Kanin Crim at the age of six months.

Irene is survived by her sister Barbara Ann Crane, her children Jeff (Launa), Bobby (Tricia), Darlene (Mark), 9 grandchildren, James, Diana, Shanda, Ashlee (Mark), John (Nancy), Charnice (Chris), Kandice, Shawn (Katy), and Casey. 18 great-grandchildren, Hayden, Abbey, Swade, Addyson, Landon, Caelyn, Kinsley, Coe, Caelie, Chase, Samuel, Sadie, Silas, Selah, Emmet, Halle, Jayden, Gabriella, 4 great-great grandchildren Matthew, Bianca, Aleia, Chance, and many nieces and nephews.

We want to thank all of the special people who cared for mom at Town Hall Estates. Thanks to Sharon for keeping our mother beautiful, thanks to Diana for seeing Nanny faithfully for many years, and Mom's church family from Woods Chapel Baptist.
