Katherine C Patterson

Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Arlington.

Interment: will follow at Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home.

Katherine was born on April 30, 1932, to the late Luther Morris Christian and Mary Aziline Franklin Christian in Vera, Texas, originally known as White Flat. She was blessed with a large family with six children, Hudson, Calvin, Bobbie Ruth, Morris, Katherine and Diane.

Katherine attended the University of North Texas in Denton where she earned her degree in teaching and met the man she was destined to share a life with. Katherine and David Newton Patterson Sr. married on May 31, 1953, in Vera, Texas, at the First United Methodist Church. They had two beautiful children, Mary Pamela and David Jr., whom blessed them with three beloved grandchildren, Danelle, Zach and Nic. She was an educator at heart and taught English until she retired in Arlington. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Arlington. She loved to travel, play bridge and spend time with her family and friends. Katherine's loving caregiver, Vivian Andrews, continued her love for travel in her final years with special trips by car, boat and plane.

Katherine was preceded in death by her father, Luther Morris Christian; mother, Mary Azilene Franklin Christian; husband, David Patterson Sr.; brothers, Hudson Christian, Calvin Christian and Morris Christian; sister, Bobbie Ruth Bentley; and her beloved daughter, Mary Pamela Patterson Folowell. Survivors: Son David Patterson Jr. and long-time girlfriend Kelly McCabe Smith; grandsons, Zachary Patterson and Nicholas Patterson; Son-in-law, John R. Folowell; granddaughter, Danelle Folowell Blanton; great-son-in-law, Ronald Blanton Jr.; her two darling sisters-in-law, Willie Jo Christian and Janette Christian; baby sister, Diane Couch; nieces, Brenda Miller, Cindy Dormier, Judy Pluto, Elizabeth Couch and Sharron Biedermann; nephews, Scotty Christian, Steve Christian and Marc Couch; many more great and great-great nieces and nephews.
