Kathleen Marie Anderson, lovingly known as Kathy, was born on October 6, 1949, in Blue Earth, Minnesota, to Dr. Richard and Rose Constans. In 1950, the family moved to Willmar, Minnesota, where Kathy spent her childhood and formative years.
Kathy was baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Willmar and was raised in the Catholic faith. She attended St. Mary’s Parochial School and later graduated from Willmar High School with the Class of 1967.
She continued her education at Saint Mary’s Junior College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, earning an Associate of Applied Science degree in June of 1970. Following her studies, Kathy built a long and dedicated career as a medical laboratory technician, a profession well suited to her careful nature, attention to detail, and commitment to helping others. She retired at the age of 65 after many years of service.
In a meaningful full-circle moment, Kathy reconnected with Gary Craig Anderson at her Willmar High School 20th class reunion. Their relationship began as a long-distance courtship, and Gary later proposed to Kathy in Minneapolis. The two were married on November 21, 1987, in Anoka County, Minnesota. Following their marriage, Kathy moved to Denver, Colorado, to begin their life together.
In October of 1991, Kathy and Gary relocated to Arlington, Texas, where they made their home. In 2010, Kathy became a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She faithfully served the church as a member of the choir, participated on the pastor nominating committee, and was ordained as an elder.
Kathy’s life was shaped by her deep love of family, her faith, and the relationships she cherished. She will be remembered for her steady presence, thoughtful nature, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. She had a special love for animals, found joy in traveling and exploring new places, and took great pleasure in gardening, nurturing beauty and life wherever she lived.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Gary Anderson; her brother, David; and her sisters, Mary and Jane. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Richard and Rose Constans, and her brother, Charles.
Final Blessing
May Kathy’s memory be a blessing to all who knew her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she gave so freely, and may her gentle spirit live on in every life she touched — human and animal alike.
