

Kathleen Elisabeth Harris McCann was born on July 17, 1923, in Denison, Texas, to Barney and Stella Harris. Kathleen was raised in Denison, Texas, and Caddo, Oklahoma, where she graduated high school in 1942. She married Oliver (O.D.) McCann on November 30, 1946. Kathleen and O.D. moved to Euless in 1959, where they were members of First Baptist Church of Euless. Kathleen worked as church secretary and later worked for the U.S. Postal Service. Upon retirement, the McCanns moved to Cedar Creek Lake where they spent many years enjoying their lakefront home and working at their church in Malakoff. They then returned to the Metroplex to live near family in Arlington. Kathleen was a member of First Baptist Church of Arlington at the time of her death.
Kathleen loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and served him throughout her life. She had a selfless love for her husband and children, which she demonstrated in countless ways. She also had a passion for Bible study, teaching Sunday School, missions and intercessory prayer ministries. She enjoyed fishing, playing Bingo, Dominoes, and other games, and being with family, especially her sisters whom she dearly loved and missed.
Survivors include daughters Kathy Bell and husband, John, Carol Britton and husband, Jim, Ruth Stone and husband Kelley; son David McCann and wife, Judy; step-daughter Janice Thomas and husband David; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, O.D. McCann, her step-daughter Jacquelyn Moore and her husband Don; and her parents and eight siblings.
Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 22, 2019, at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. Service is 12:00 Noon, Saturday, November 23, 2019, at First Baptist Church of Arlington, 301 S. Center Street, Arlington, TX 76010. Committal Service is 1:00 pm at Moore Memorial Gardens. Memorials: Muscular Dystrophy Association and Mission Arlington.
