Service: 11 a.m. Friday at New World United Methodist Church of Arlington. Inurnment: Monday, March 5, 2012 at 12:15 p.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to New World United Methodist Church or to Community Hospice of Texas.
Kenneth served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War, receiving a Bronze Star for valor and a Purple Heart. He continued to serve our country in the Texas National Guard and Army Reserve and retired as a major.
By trade he was a skilled finish carpenter and trimmed some of Arlington and Fort Worth's finest homes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Lola Mabel Bishop; brother, Joe Bishop; and half sister, Karlina Strong.
Survivors: Devoted wife of 36 years, Sue G. Bishop; son, Michael Bishop and daughter-in-law, Wanda; daughter, Shawna Reed and son-in-law, Hank; grandson, Zachary; stepson, Robin G. Givens; and many nieces and nephews.
