LaVerna Kuykendall

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the Iredell Cemetery in Iredell, Texas. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive, in Arlington.

She was born LaVerna Mae Cope on March 9, 1916 in Cleveland, Oklahoma, a daughter of Jesse Cope and Era Kinikin Cope. LaVerna married Albert Kuykendall in 1937. LaVerna enjoyed making ceramics, arranging flowers, and reading. She especially loved spending time with her two granddaughters, Valerie and Debbie. Arts, crafts, and cooking were some of their favorite activities. Most of all, LaVerna loved her family. She was a woman of great faith and leaves behind an amazing legacy for her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Era Cope; her husband, Albert Kuykendall; one granddaughter, Debbie Bauerle; two brothers, Kenneth Cope and Quincy Cope; and one step-brother, Johnny Spurlock.

LaVerna is survived by one daughter, Patricia Helm and husband Ronnie of Arlington; one granddaughter, Valerie Donahue and husband Jon of Argyle; and one great-grandson, Helm Donahue of Dallas.

The family suggests memorials in memory of LaVerna to a charity of the donors choice.
