He was born in Red River County near Manchester on April 2, 1915. He worked for Swift and Company becoming vice president of Security Mutual Casualty Company, a subsidiary of Swift & Co. He graduated from Paschal High School in Fort Worth and attended TCU.
Mr. Marchbanks was a member of the Charter Property and Casualty Underwriter Association and a longtime member and Sunday school teacher at Riverside United Methodist Church. He was a 50-year member of Riverside Masonic Lodge Chapter, Council and Moslah Shine.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby.
Survivors: He leaves to cherish his memories son, Lewis Marchbanks Jr. and Jan; daugther, Betty Hulings and Bruce; grandchildren, Trey Marchbanks, Mark Hulings and Megan, Greg Hulings; and three great-grandchildren.
