Dr. Lewis M. Pincus passed away on November 22, 2011, after a long battle with leukemia. He fought valiantly and inspired others by his strong will to live. Dr. Pincus was born in Philadelphia where he graduated from Temple University and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He practiced Internal Medicine in the South Dallas area for the past 25 years and was the founder and leader of the To Life! Wellness and Weight Loss Program, helping hundreds of people realize their full health potentials. He related to his patients personally, listened respectfully, and tried to treat both body and mind. In addition to being a board certified internist, Dr. Pincus was also a fellow in the College of Osteopathic Medicine and a board-certified bariatric specialist.
Lew had an endearing sense of humor and the ability to motivate others to be more successful than they ever thought possible. He loved teaching, travelling, listening to music, playing the saxophone, and watching the Mavericks and Rangers play. He always had a new idea and was ready to put it in action. He adored his family, friends, and patients, and was an enthusiastic participant in life. He was truly was a generous and kind person.
Lew is survived by his wife, Ellen, their two sons, Joshua and Alex, daughter Lauren, sister Rebecca Gross, and brother, Andy Pincus. A devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. Lewis will be greatly missed and forever loved.
Services will be held at Congregation Beth Shalom, 1212 Thannisch Dr. , Arlington, TX 76011. on Wednesday, November 23 at 11AM. The graveside will follow at Moore Memorial Garden. The Shiva will be observed Wednesday, November 23 and Thursday, November 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the Pincus home 1101 Laon Ln., Desoto, TX 75115.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Congregation Beth Shalom or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
