

Dr. Lloyd E. Meyer was born of Minnie Bernd Meyer and Stephen August Meyer in LaSalle, Colorado on June 22, 1927. He was one of eleven (11) children. Surviving are his wife, Joanne Meyer of Mansfield, Texas; Beverly Loy English of Mansfield, Texas; Marilyn Joy Broyles of Haslet, Texas; and Steven David Meyer of Madison, Alabama.
There are five (5) surviving grandchildren: Tim Ayers, Adam Broyles, Matthew Meyer, Mason Meyer, and Murphy Meyer and is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Mandy Meyer. There are eight (8) surviving great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by both his parents, Minnie Bernd Meyer, Stephen Meyer and six (6) sisters and four (4) brothers.
Dr. Meyer attended Bebe Draw Elementary School in LaSalle, Colorado and graduated from Greeley High School in Greeley, Colorado. He attended Greeley Baptist Temple, where he was called to preach. After serving in the Armed forces, he attended and graduated from the Bible Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas (now known as Arlington Baptist College) with a Master in Theology degree and later received an Honorary Doctor’s degree.
After graduating Bible Baptist Seminary, Dr. Meyer went to Richmond, Indiana and founded the Richmond Baptist Temple. Thereafter and during his pastoring tenure, he pastored at six (6) different churches. Dr. Meyer assisted in starting thirty-three (33) churches and was the founder of two (2) Christian schools. Dr. Meyer retired from pastoring at the age of sixty-five (65), but continued to operate the Orlando Christian School in Clermont, Florida for many years after retiring from preaching.
He was the President of the World Baptist Fellowship for two (2) terms, served on the Mission Board of the Fellowship, and was the editor of the Fundamentalist (known as the voice of the World Baptist Fellowship). Dr. Meyer was on the Board of Directors for Arlington Baptist College for many years, President of the Tri-State Fellowship (the Florida, Georgia, and Alabama regions), and President of the Tri-State Pilgrims.
Dr. Meyer moved to Arlington, Texas in 2007 and became a member of Pleasantview Baptist Church. He became involved in Arlington Baptist College by helping to refurbish the dormitories, planting shrubs, and flowers around the College and the World Baptist Mission office. He could be seen on many days patching blacktop, cleaning the dorms, or just working around the school until his health started declining in 2017.
